Local TV program explores PTSD

A locally-produced television program on veterans coping with post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries will air this month on Western Reserve Public Media, channels 45/49, WNEO/WEAO, entitled, "Out of Our Brains, Not Out of Our Minds".

The program is one in a series of three programs on veterans that local/regional television production company, PonderSystems Media, has produced. The series is called "Veterans of America...Our Heroes in Uniform," and are produced to air on PBS stations in Ohio and nationwide.

The program includes interviews of Dr. Chrisanne Gordon, a practicing central Ohio physician, who makes up one of the millions of Americans that has a traumatic brain injury. She was putting away Christmas decorations in her home basement, and as she slid the box of decorations inside a crawl space, she quite literally hit her head against a brick wall, causing loss of her cognitive faculties. She endured an extensive rehab program that required plenty of sacrifice and personal grit.

The show will air on Western Reserve Public Media at 3:30 a.m.Nov. 24 and 4:30 a.m.Nov. 28 and on Fusion at 10:30 p.m.Nov. 22.

Monday, Nov. 11, at 9:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 2:30 a.m.; Sunday, Nov. 24, at 3:30 a.m.; and Thursday, Nov. 28, at 4:30 a.m.Also airs on Fusion on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 4:30 p.m.; Monday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m.; and Friday, Nov. 22, at 10:30 p.m.
