'Mini Vets Fest' brings music, Huey chopper landing to Roseville VFW on July 17

Jul. 10—The annual Vets Fest, which raises money to bring live entertainment to veterans in veterans rest homes, will be presented at two different locations this year — Roseville in July and Blaine later in August.

The first of the "Mini Vets Fests" will be July 17 at Roseville VFW, with an opening ceremony at 2 p.m.Pat McLaughlin and the Vets for Music organization is putting on the event. According to a Vets Fest news release, there are five veterans rest homes in Minnesota and McLaughlin's goal is to play all five of them in 2021.

There will be a big tent at the Roseville VFW, 1145 Woodhill Dr. People are asked to bring their own lawn chairs. Barbecue will be available.

The Mini Vets Fest is free and open to the public, but donations are requested. The event will feature music by the Pat McLaughlin Band and some special musical guests. And there's a Huey chopper landing scheduled for 4 p.m., provided by the Minnesota Vietnam Vets Charity Organization. There will also be a vintage car show throughout the day in the parking lot of the Roseville VFW. The closing ceremony is at 6 p.m. For more info, go to the Vets for Music Facebook page.
